As my eyes start to see the daffodils starting to show their little bulbous heads and the snowdrops lighting up the area underneath the willow tree and hope that it will not be too long before the crocuses start to come into flower. These after all are fabulous flowers for bees.
Apart from that it is the start of my own growing season in the garden and on the allotment. Thanks to Seedparade I have got lots of different seeds this year and have already starting sowing. No news yet about the bees….I am hoping it won’t be too long but to be honest I am not really ready yet. Most of my
frames are now built now that I am approaching my third evening (though I cannot complain as the combination of the TV – invariably something football related – beer and general excitement is keeping me going – though not all of those factors are making it particularly good for my fingers while using the hammer) Read the rest of this entry »

A great day today with some fantastic time spent on the allotment and in the Garden. The free shed I got from next door has finally been transported up to the allotment with the help of the neighbours. I just have to build a base for it now and then start to build the thing! Bees are a fabulous subject but they wouldn’t be anywhere without our gardens being in shape! Therefore, this blog will also be charting my experiences in the garden as well. If truth be told, I would classify 2009 as the first year I took gardening seriously. Before that I had a keen interest but had certainly not really charted my feelings or experiences. At the start of 2009 I decided I would keep a diary of exactly what I had done, planted and sowed.
